Anaphylaxis is a severe, rapidly progressive systemic allergic reaction. It occurs within minutes to hours after exposure to an antigen (such as food, medication, animals, or plants) and presents with a wide range of symptoms including swelling of the face, lips, and throat; generalized hives; coughing, hoarseness, wheezing, and difficulty breathing; abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea; impaired consciousness; and low blood pressure.
If left untreated, it can be life-threatening, so please seek medical attention immediately. Prompt treatment with adrenaline (epinephrine), bronchodilators, antihistamines, and corticosteroids leads to rapid improvement. With timely medical care, anyone can be saved.
At our clinic, we also provide emergency care. Even if hospital transfer is necessary, we closely monitor your condition in the consultation room and ensure that you are stabilized before discharge or transfer.
Furthermore, if you feel anxious in your daily life, we can also prescribe an adrenaline auto-injector (EpiPen).
